Can’t Find My Way

(In memory of Lewis Walmsley 1918 – 2002)

Can’t find my way back home
My mind is so confused
In case of emergency
Break glass and be set free (but I)
Can’t find my way back   home

Brothers’ gone
Sister’s gone
Father’s gone
Mother’s gone
[Now you’re telling me that]
Daughter’s gone
There’s only me and you

It’s not the road for home
Slow down and turn around
I must depend on you
No certainty, just clues (and I)
Can’t find my way back   home

Is it left or is it right?
Is it day or is it night?
Is it hot or is it cold?
Am I young or am I old?
Is it dusty road or is it tar?
Is it near or far?

Can’t find my way back home
My mind is so confused
In case of emergency
Break glass and be set free (but I)
Can’t find my way back   home
